Chicago Day Two Afternoon

After the boat tour we hit Navy Pier - our second visit in two days. But today we had some time to explore the entire pier!  And the weather was just fantastic today, with the sky a stunning shade of vibrant blue.

I ran into these heroes at the very end of the Pier. I don't think we've ever been so deep in Lake Michigan.

After our Navy Pier exploration we headed over to the Art Institute of Chicago - a collection of absolutely breathtaking art, including some very famous works.

After all that art and very quiet exploration of the museum, the kids went across the street to Butler Park and enjoyed the Chicago sun with soccer games, football throws, frisbee tossing, and singing the day away!

Afterwards, we walked over to and did a tour of Buckingham fountain - one of the world's largest, modeled after the fountain in the palace at Versailles.

Buckingham Fountain is missing a palace in front of it though. The Americans aren't that big on royalty, if their history is any guide.

We are now on our way to Andy's Jazz Club for dinner, and more importantly, live jazz!
