Tall Pines School offers Montessori programs that are fully accredited by the Canadian Council of Montessori Administrators. We are the longest accredited Montessori school in Canada. At Tall Pines School, parents can therefore be assured that their child will receive authentic Montessori philosophy education, delivered by teachers fully trained in the Montessori method, and in classrooms that are properly prepared and equipped with Montessori learning materials.
There are many Montessori schools in Canada; however, parents need to be aware that these schools may not be equal. Some day care centres, nursery schools and private schools use the name Montessori without actually providing programs led by properly qualified teachers, and without the especially designed materials and equipment which are unique to Montessori learning environments. The name "Montessori" is in the public domain, and anyone can use it.
The Canadian Council of Montessori Administrators (www.ccma.ca) maintains lists of Accredited Montessori schools on their website, and their staff is available daily to receive inquiries about accredited schools. Searching for schools with CCMA accreditation will assure parents that their child will receive authentic Montessori education. Tall Pines School is very pleased to continue to be the longest accredited CCMA Montessori School in Canada.

Ministry of Education:
Some schools claim to be accredited by the Ministry of Education, however, the The Ontario Ministry of Education does not accredit preschool or elementary school programs. Private schools are required only to submit a notice of intention to operate, and submit regular statistical information. Such private schools are listed with the Ministry, however, the Ministry does not inspect such schools. Only private schools that operate high school programs are inspected by the Ministry
